Giving it their all. Two thousand works, donated to the Arab World Institute museum by Parisian gallery owner Claude Lemand and his wife France. Without them, the museum would have four times less modern and contemporary art. It hasn't yet opened its doors; ten of these iconic pieces are temporarily on display in the Place de la Concorde, where the Institute is the guest of honor at the Modern Art Fair.
The Also Known As Africa (AKAA) fair will be held at the Carreau du Temple from October 23 to 25, 2026. A highlight of this edition, themed around reconciliation, is the monumental installation by Senegalese photographer Gabriel Dia, inspired by the spirit of the Bicentennial of Photography.
