Exhibition at the sources of Neoclassicism at the Château de Chantilly
1
Desires for majesty? The sumptuous Château de Chantilly has something to satisfy your royal desires. For the first time since 1770, a duo of magnificent 18th century French furniture is brought together in the Galerie des Batailles. The cardboard desk of Ange-Laurent Lalive de Jully, introducer of ambassadors to the court of Versailles, and his shell case are an impressive witness to the birth of neoclassicism. There we discover for the first time the lines and decorations inspired by antiques, in a fine gold decor.
