“I judge that these so-called good men are heretics”: with these words, the Council of Lombers of May 1165 definitively condemns the Cathars, for whom God is absent from our earthly world. From 1209, the war was launched: massacres, inquisitions, stakes, so many images of fire and blood associated with the crusade against the Albigensians. This interactive exhibition, rich in 300 treasures, immerses us in this war raging throughout the South of France. Archive documents and previously unpublished archaeological objects, works of art, and historical reconstructions offer us an adrenaline-filled leap into the past.
