Sentience exhibition, listening to the scent of color at Maubuisson Abbey
Take a deep breath… Seven artists offer an exceptional sensory stroll in the setting of a magnificent historic abbey. Summoning sight, hearing, touch, taste but above all smell, Sentience is a fabulously poetic invitation to feel. The artist Julie C.Fortier invites us, for example, to Feel the color of the breath, by creating a poetic and fragrant path made of silk veils that allows us to see, smell and touch. The unusual installations Devoring Fantasy II & III by Morgane Courtois, they play with our perceptions and confront two very distant olfactory atmospheres: that of a contemporary Parisian suburb and that of the French court of the 13th century. Relax, stroll, take the time to feel the sensations one after the other... At a time when our eyes are constantly stimulated by a myriad of images, this delicious invitation to use our sense of smell comes at the right time. It reminds us that being sensitive to our environment, to our emotions and to what is happening around us is an almost sacred value.
Did you know?
Among our senses, smell is the most directly linked… to our emotions! The information generated by odors is automatically relayed in the amygdala, a region of the brain dedicated to emotions: they are therefore immediately connected.
