Olympic Games exhibition, mirror of societies at the Shoah Memorial
14
Berlin, 1936. At the turning point in world history, Jesse Owen, Helene Mayer and many others confront German athletes, elevated to the rank of icons by the Nazi regime. Immersed in the sporting arena, this exhibition plays with the media to bring us closer to the emotion of athletes transcended by the feat, who made this sporting event a platform for humanity. Combining period photographs, animated images, sound devices and historical objects, it questions the values of Olympicism and poses them as a mirror of the discrimination in our societies. A historical experience that projects us into the past, and reminds us that if we come from far away, our future depends only on us.
