Miner or athlete? Why choose ? The Lewarde Historical Mining Center rolls up its sleeves to help us discover another local history where a good worker is above all a good sportsman. Between anonymous figures and portraits of great champions, this black and white exhibition reveals behind the scenes of the mining basin, with its football fields and athletics tracks. A popular story punctuated by shots of men and women in exercise, intensive training sessions, jubilant crowds and attentive audiences holding their breath until the last second before victory.
