Head to the Les Filles du Calvaire gallery for an immersive experience in the unique universe of Levi van Veluw. From Thursday May 2 to Saturday June 8, 2024, the Dutch artist presents his very first solo exhibition in Paris, entitled "We do not remember". An artistic creation that promises to captivate minds and awaken the senses!

From the adjacent alleys, we are addressed... What is this monumental installation that transforms the gallery window into a work of art in its own right? Through 120 replicas of his own effigy, the artist creates a striking vision of the crowd, where faces crowd together and overlap in a chaotic and hypnotic movement. We enter. In the center of the gallery, a cylindrical structure 6 meters high irresistibly catches our eye. This monumental installation crosses the two floors of the gallery, creating an oppressive and carceral space where visitors find themselves trapped by their own curiosity. On the walls of this room, shelves overflowing with human heads evoke an overcrowded warehouse, or perhaps even the labyrinthine interior of the artist's brain itself? With "We do not remember", Levi van Veluw invites us on a journey to the heart of his inner world, where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. Levi van Veluw also presents sculptures, drawings and autobiographical films that draw on his childhood memories to explore the twists and turns of memory and identity. Through his works, the artist questions the notions of order and chaos, control and freedom, inviting us to reflect on our own relationship to the world around us. By exploring the modes of seduction of representations of religion, Levi van Veluw confronts us with our own beliefs and questions. Through an aesthetic that is both disturbing and captivating, the artist invites us to question our vision of the world and explore the mysteries of the human soul.

Levi van Veluw, a polymorphous and talented artist, is recognized for his ability to explore a multitude of artistic disciplines, from photography to sculpture, including video and installations. His innovative work has earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Photographer of the Year award at the IPA International Photo Awards in the United States.
