Paris 1924 exhibition, advertising in the city at the Forney Library
12
Immerse yourself in the excitement of the Olympic Games… of 1924! The Forney Library goes back in time a century ago to make us relive the emotion of a capital in full swing. Immersed in the Paris of yesteryear, we walk along the walls of a city teeming with information, covered with giant posters, newspaper extracts and commercial advertisements. Some extol the merits of high-performance automobiles, others warn of upcoming sporting competitions or invite us to follow the programming of the most fashionable theaters of the moment. Here, all means are good to attract attention. Leaflets, professions of faith, postcards, blotters, calendars, butterflies... This abundant exhibition, deliberately saturated with images, multiplies the supports to paint the implicit portrait of a city that never sleeps. A true immersion in the heart of the Roaring Twenties in a fake setting built from scratch.
