Everything is a story of passion.

It's all a story of passion. For more than a century, Paris has been beating to the rhythm of the Olympic Games, this global celebration of athletics, competition and sportsmanship. It was here, in 1900, that the city hosted the modern Olympic Games for the first time, marking the start of an adventure that would last through the decades. In 1924, Paris once again lit up the world by organizing the Games for the second time in a memorable edition. Today, a hundred years later, the city is preparing to write a new chapter in its Olympic history, thus opening its third millennium. The exhibition at the Musée Départemental de la Seine-et-Marne offers us a fascinating dive into this Olympic heritage, revealing the key moments, the sporting exploits and the significant figures who shaped the history of the Games, looking back at the memorable editions of 1900, 1924 and 2024, each making its own contribution to this unique planetary phenomenon. From a practice of a religious nature to celebrate Zeus, the king of the gods, the Games have been transformed to give way to a field of competition, where individual and collective performances take precedence around a sport that has become a spectacle. Symbolic objects, sparkling trophies, glorious medals and historic outfits, each piece on display here is a precious testimony to the commitment and passion that drives the Olympic movement.

An exhibition in collaboration with the National Sports Museum of Nice.
