A magical night under the stars: the open-air cinema at Monnaie de Paris is back

Summer is approaching, and with it, the promise of outdoor evenings which mark the long-awaited return of cinema under the stars. But this year, due to the Olympic Games, many of these events, which are very popular with Parisians, have been canceled. One of them resisted the call of sport, and we are delighted!

This year, Monnaie de Paris is reopening the doors of its superb Cour d’Honneur for three exceptional nights of open-air screenings. Get ready to experience unforgettable moments on May 30 and June 1, 2024!

Imagine yourself comfortably seated in a deckchair, under the starry sky, surrounded by the historic walls of the Monnaie de Paris. It is in this enchanting setting that the open-air cinema cycle entitled “A canvas under the stars” will be held. The screenings will begin at 9:45 p.m. , but the festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with musical entertainment and food trucks to satisfy all your gourmet desires.

For this edition, the program gives pride of place to cinema classics which will delight young and old:

May 30, 2024 : immerse yourself in the world of aviation with the legendary film Top Gun by Tony Scott.Feel the adrenaline of aerial combat alongside Maverick and relive the 80s with this cult film.

May 31, 2024:Put on your best dancing shoes for another great classic, Grease by Randal Kleiser. Join Sandy and Danny in this unmissable musical comedy that will make you vibrate to the rhythm of rock'n'roll.

June 1, 2024:Embark on a journey through time with Back to the Future by Robert Zemeckis.Follow Marty McFly on his adventures through the ages and let yourself be carried away by the magic of cinema.

Echoing the “Insert Coin” exhibition currently on view at the Monnaie de Paris, these cinematographic evenings will be placed under the sign of money and nostalgia for years gone by. A visit to the exhibition will be possible from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., subject to availability.
