It’s a very special music festival that’s being prepared at the Swedish Institute in Paris! Meet on Friday, June 21 in the Institute garden to celebrate Midsommar in a festive and friendly atmosphere. The evening will begin with traditional dances around the flower pole, followed by two exclusive concerts by Alice Boman and Jelly Crystal.

Midsommar, an ancestral summer festival, is celebrated outdoors, in meadows, parks and gardens, surrounded by families, friends and neighbors. Participants adorn themselves with flowers and bright colors to dance around the flower pole, a sometimes fun activity where people do not hesitate to imitate the movements of frogs. For the second year in a row, singer Eskelina will guide the festivities, accompanying participants in dances and songs.

The evening will continue with concerts by Alice Boman and Jelly Crystal. From 7:30 p.m., Alice Boman, singer-songwriter, will captivate the audience with her sweet and melancholic melodies. His latest album, "The Space Between", explores silence and space, enriching his musical style with shimmering guitars, accordion, music box effects and muted brass. His compositions, such as "Space" and "Night and Day", create an introspective and calming atmosphere, perfect for an evening summer. Boman's music has previously been featured in popular series like "Transparent" (Amazon), "Wanderlust" (HBO) and "13 Reasons Why" (Netflix).

Jelly Crystal, for its part, will bring a touch of glam-rock and soul to the evening. Known for his baritone voice and eclectic style mixing art-rock, funk, soul and R'n'B, Jelly Crystal has collaborated with renowned artists such as Alice Boman, Stella Explorer and Seinabo Sey. His first album, "Freak Show", released in 2021, earned him the title of "composer of the year" in Sweden. His album "Prince", released at the end of 2023, was praised by critics, consolidating his place on the Swedish music scene.

An evening that promises to be memorable, between traditions and musical discoveries.
