Bertrand Lavier, magician of shapes and alchemist of colors, invites us on an unprecedented chromatic odyssey at the heart of his offbeat universe. As soon as we enter the exhibition, we are struck by the evocative and jubilant force of his works. Nearly twenty pieces, carefully selected, illustrate the artist's unique approach, marked by ingenious diversions and plays on the clichés of modern art, in a colorful visual symphony. By covering objects with paint, Lavier plays with the idea of "painting on pattern", blurring the boundaries between painting and sculpture. This covering technique, paradoxically, allows access to the very essence of the object, to strip it bare to discover it in a new light. Through this transformation, Lavier restores the etymological meaning of the picturesque, literally "that which is worthy of being painted", thus playing once again with the codes and expectations of the art world.
