This summer, the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau offers us an insight into the unique know-how of the Comédie Française costume designers. With opera, ballet and theater costumes, this exhibition offers us a unique journey into an enchanted scenography. From Ondine to Oberon, from Isoline to Swan Lake, these costumes immerse us in the marvelous world of theatrical play. These fragments of scenes, vestiges of past representations, still carry today the imaginative energy of those who created them, the magic with which they are imbued and the wonder of which they were the object, as evidenced by the beaded dress of the nymph Chloé for Isoline, performed in 1958. The corridors of the Azay-le-Rideau castle then become backstage, taking us on an enchanting journey, where a magical atmosphere reigns.

Did you know?
This summer, at nightfall, the castle will open its doors to you for a memorable evening. A musical tour will be offered to you and the visit to the exhibition will take the form of a sound stroll, accompanied by opera and ballet music from which the costumes are taken. The experience promises to be magical!
From July 10 to August 24 - Wednesday to Saturday From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
