Slender giants that rise against the azure sea. Germaine Richier's monumental silhouettes are imbued with the sweet scent of Provence and are masterfully reborn in the sumptuous setting of the ruins of l'Escalette. Thirteen imposing sculptures stand proudly here, in harmony with the landscape of the coves. For the exhibition, these hybrid and fanciful creatures will sit on a raw wooden pedestal – in spaces specially created to accommodate them – establishing a touching dialogue with the ancient stones of the wastelands and the indomitable plant clutter of the surrounding maquis offering us a sensory experience captivating.
