Now I only write in French

3

Viktor Kyrylov recounts his journey as a young Ukrainian living in Moscow when the Russian invasion began on February 24, 2022. A student at GITIS, the most prestigious Russian theater school, he suddenly sees his childhood dream crumble: bonds break, bearings waver, and his passion for theater comes into conflict with the war and national identity.

Through this autobiographical one-man show, the performance blends intimate narrative and political history. Viktor Kyrylov examines the contradictions of exile, guilt, the relationship to language and the place of the artist in the face of conflict. Between attachment to Russian culture and loyalty to his people, he seeks how to continue to live, create and speak. Viktor Kyrylov recounts how French became a refuge and poses an essential question: Why do we fight?
