L’exposition propose un voyage à la rencontre des potières d’Afrique de l’Ouest et de leurs productions.  Ce voyage, 11 céramistes européens l’ont fait il y a 20 ans.  Ils en ont rapporté une centaine de poteries, plusieurs heures de films, des notes de terrain et près de 2000 photographies. Ce parcours met ainsi en lumière une soixantaine de poteries, brutes ou peintes, objets ordinaires à la beauté plastique invitant à la contemplation ; mais il permet aussi d’explorer le savoir-faire des potières qui se transmettait de générations en générations, au travers de gestes aussi simples que magnifiques.
