Découverte - Le web post-apocalyptique de Mike Winkelmann

Dans une vision post-apocalyptique de notre monde, l’artiste Mike Winkelmann imagine des versions futuristes des géants du web, tels que Facebook, Netflix, Amazon ou Google.

Sa série d’illustrations, intitulée Fallen Giants, montre ces noms de la globalisation dans une posture de déchéance qui n’est pas enviable : à la mort de notre civilisation, ils sont devenus de pauvres constructions décrépies, véritables vestiges d’une époque clairement révolue et oubliée.

Tel un memento mori, l’artiste nous rappelle ainsi la futilité et la superficialité du monde contemporain et de ce qui peuple notre quotidien, à savoir les réseaux sociaux et le web. Ces œuvres font également étrangement écho à l’actualité : mardi 10 avril, Mark Zuckerberg a comparu devant le Sénat des Etats-Unis pour justifier le rôle de Facebook dans son atteinte à la vie privée de ses utilisateurs.

De belles illustrations, pour un constat bien réel qui fait frémir.
