Non, Ada n’est pas une nouvelle œuvre issue de l’intelligence artificielle, ou un robot-artiste échappé du Grand Palais. Ada est tout simplement une sphère de plastique remplie d’hélium, entourée de piquants de charbon qui agissent comme des fusains. Placée dans une chambre blanche immaculée, il suffit au visiteur de faire rouler, tournoyer ou envoyer en l’air cette bulle pour qu’elle dessine aléatoirement sur les murs.

Créée par l’artiste Karina Smigla-Bobinski, Ada est décrit par cette dernière comme « un globe en action qui fabrique une composition de lignes et de points, incalculable en intensité, expression et forme, aussi fort qu’essaie le visiteur de la contrôler et de la domestiquer. Quoi qu’il tente, il découvre rapidement que ADA est un créateur indépendant qui décore les murs originellement blancs de dessins et de signes. »

Quoi qu’il en soit, où qu’elle passe – à la Villette en 2016, au Festival Maintenant à Rennes en 2017 ou à Munich récemment – Ada amuse bien le public avec sa jolie forme… de ballon rond. A noter dans vos agendas : Ada sera présente à Paris, au Pavillon Carré Baudouin au mois de mai prochain !
