Van Gogh exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay, the painter's last days in Auvers-sur-Oise

Orsay Museum

The last days of Vincent van Gogh are as legendary as they are tragic. Between May 20, 1890 and the date of his death on July 29 of the same year, the Dutch painter with a tormented palette, taking refuge in the small town of Auvers-sur-Oise, experienced the most frenetic creative period of his career. Of the 73 paintings and 33 drawings produced during its last two months, the Musée d'Orsay managed to bring together around forty paintings including The Church of Auvers-sur-Oise, the Disquieting Wheat field with crows or his final painting, Tree roots, but also around twenty drawings and sketches by the master. The exhibition here follows the last days of a cursed painter condemned to madness.
