JR back on the facade of the Opéra Garnier

A feeling of déjà vu? The artist JR inaugurates Act II of a new multidisciplinary project with a major surprise: a free show by 150 dancers at the foot of the Opera this Sunday, November 12 in the evening.
Two months after his success in these same places, JR returns to the Opéra Garnier to cover its facade with an ever-widening grotto.
And this time, he wasn't alone! Indeed, this 2ᵉ section is the result of a partnership with the Galerie du 19M which joined forces with the artist to organize a free introductory embroidery workshop. Each participant was then invited to contribute to the creation of this new temporary facade, even more impressive than the previous one. The participation of each of them is also forever engraved on the work: the most attentive will indeed notice that numerous handprints appear almost everywhere on this facade of JR. These are in fact those of all these apprentice embroiderers who will forever leave the trace of their work. A nice gesture which highlights the collaborative nature of this new project.
Still, this cave is now visible. It will remain until November 25. So don't delay!
