Exhibition C215 sees double at the Inguimbertine Library-Museum in Carpentras
Inguimbertine Library-Museum
Until October 31, 2024
For more than two decades, Christian Guémy, aka C215, has made the street his studio and the urban his canvas, transforming everyday life into an open-air gallery. His stencils, true masterpieces of precision and sensitivity, adorn facades and street furniture across the world, awakening awareness with discreet but powerful poetics. His portraits of historical and anonymous figures, as well as his scenes capturing the essence of childhood or animal dignity, now populate the streets of Carpentras and the gallery of honor of the Hôtel-Dieu.
Did you know? This exhibition marks an important step in the rehabilitation of the Hôtel-Dieu de Carpentras, a historic monument of 10,000 m², ranked second largest in Vaucluse after the Palais des Papes. The former hospital for the most deprived, commissioned by Bishop Joseph-Dominique d'Inguimbert in 1750, is transformed into a meeting place between the arts and modern technologies. The fusion of writings and images, ancient heritage and contemporary innovations, creates a space where culture is accessible to all.
