Eva et Thomas passent leurs vacances dans une station de ski. En haut des pistes, une avalanche se déclenche. Moment terrifiant. Mais la catastrophe s’arrête à quelques mètres. Aucun dommage visible. Pourtant, l’événement fissure le couple quand on interprète les réactions de chacun face au danger. L’univers familial est ébranlé et les amis se déchirent. La lâcheté, la peur et la honte font main basse sur les meilleures intentions. Le Scandinave Ruben Östlund réalise The Square, Palme d’or 2017. Son quatrième film, Snow Therapy, obtient le prix du jury à Cannes en 2012 et représente la Suède aux Oscars. Écrivaine, productrice et directrice de théâtre, Salomé Lelouch orchestre un huis clos grinçant, épopée intime et alpine, où les failles des individus se révèlent et les poussent au bord du précipice.
