The Perfume Museum has reopened its doors and takes our senses on a journey for free
Perfume Museum
Reopening on December 22, 2022
Who has never been fascinated by the smell of perfume? Who has never dreamed of unraveling the manufacturing mysteries of the greatest perfumeries? The Perfume Museum's mission is to awaken our five senses, and more particularly, our sense of smell, by offering us the opportunity to discover all the stages that give life to perfume, this mythical luxury object that is part of our daily lives. Our olfactory journey begins with an overview of the most incredible perfume flowers. Fragonard designed the museum to offer an immersive experience in the apartment of a 19th century Grasse perfumer and collector. In a magnificent mansion, located opposite the Opéra Garnier, discover the making of perfumes from its origins to the present day. Maison Fragonard exhibits and has one of the most beautiful collections of ancient bottles from ancient Egypt to the 1950s: pomanders, Fabergé and Lalique bottles, Khôl vases dating from ancient Egypt... The visit continues around the techniques creation of perfume: the mythical organ of the perfumer known as the nose, the raw materials of perfumery, the processes used for the extraction of perfume plants... From picking to formulation to putting into bottles, the Perfume Museum offers us a journey to the heart of our senses.
