Véritable icône pour la ville et ses citoyens, aussi bien que pour la France et le monde entier, de nombreux artistes internationaux ont voulu lui rendre hommage en offrant leurs œuvres, spécialement créées pour cette exposition, parmi lesquels Balthus, Georg Baselitz, John Currin, Edmund de Waal, Roe Ethridge, Urs Fischer, Theaster Gates, Frank Gehry, Katharina Grosse, Andreas Gursky, Michael Heizer, Thomas Houseago, Jia Aili, Y.Z.Kami, Takashi Murakami, Marc Newson, Giuseppe Penone, Sterling Ruby, Ed Ruscha, Jenny Saville, Richard Serra, Setsuko, Cindy Sherman, Taryn Simon, Patti Smith, Blair Thurman, et Rachel Whiteread. Un engagement profond que la galerie Gagosian perpétue une fois de plus en faveur des artistes et des arts, pour la rénovation et la restauration de la cathédrale médiévale. Le profit des ventes de leurs œuvres sera en effet reversé à la Grande Dame.
